So Long, Nevada

Nevada, I’m going to miss you so much, but it’s time to move on. Matt and I have lived in Carson City for the past 10 years. During that time, we explored the state like crazy. We didn’t make it everywhere, of course, but of the places we have been, here is what I will miss the most:

(Besides our friends, of course, I will miss them the most! Guys, it was really hard to leave. We seriously felt the love over the last couple of months and were constantly wondering if we had made the right decision. Thank you for all of the going away parties, the camping trips, the dinners at our favorite restaurants, the brewery visits, and the slumber parties.).

Hot Springs in Nevada
Hot springs! Moving clockwise: Monitor Valley (or Pott’s) Hot Spring in Monitor Valley, Spencer Hot Springs in Austin, and 12 Mile Hot Spring in Wells
001 Blog East Shore Beaches Collage
The beaches on the east shore of Lake Tahoe. Not only are they gorgeous, you have to hike in to many of them, and that keeps the crowds down. Pictured here are Skunk Harbor and Whale Beach.
Sushi
All you can eat sushi!
Reno Beer
All the beer parties. You can find a beer event just about any given weekend in Reno, whether it’s a monthly pub crawl or a big craft beer tasting festival. There are many great brew pubs too! Pictured here: Imbib Custom Brews, El Dorado’s Brews and Blues, The Brewer’s Cabinet, and the Zombie Pub Crawl.
Hiking in Nevada
All the great hiking. A few of my favorites, from easy to a bit strenuous: Clear Creek Trail, Silver Saddle Ranch, Mt. Rose, and Marlette Lake.
Parks in Nevada
The diverse parks. Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park (Spooner), Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Great Basin National Park, and Valley of Fire State Park
Carson City, Nevada
And most of all, I will miss the high desert climate and the beautiful wide open spaces like this.
